If you’ve searched for a pancake in Sydney lately, you’ve probably seen the same thing over and over: a tall stack, a pat of butter, a pour of maple. It’s fine. It’s also forgettable.
At Olivia By Fave, on Orwell Street in Potts Point, the pancake takes a different route.
What’s On the Plate
Olivia’s Pancake is built around three things:
- Torched banana, caramelised on top so the sweetness deepens instead of just sitting there
- White chocolate crémeux, a silky, mousse-like cream rather than a plain scoop of whipped cream
- Soy maple syrup, a lighter, slightly savoury twist on the usual maple pour
It’s on the breakfast menu, served from 7:00am to 11:30am, and priced at $24.
Why Potts Point for Pancakes?
Potts Point is one of the most café-dense pockets of Sydney, which makes it a good place to compare. What sets this pancake apart is that it reads like a dessert-style dish you can have at breakfast, rather than a default brunch order.
Pair it with a flat white or one of the café’s matcha drinks if you want to lean into the sweet side of the menu.
